Objectives:

To organize pre-primary education centre in the project area

To provide preventive and primitive health to the community.

To generate awareness regarding rights- social, economical & political.

To increase people’s participation for sustainable development.

To support human potential development through education and training with emphasis on children, adolescents and women.

To promotion and preservation of environment and awareness generation among people to reduce further degradation of environment.

To generate awareness on anti-trafficking measures of minors of minors for commercial sexual exploitation and unsafe migration.

To provide support service to the child/youth in his /her effort to grow and integrate into society, keeping family as target.

To Child protection Units to provide safe shelter and all round development of children.

To launch income generation projects and resource mobilization efforts.

Awareness Camps on HIV/AIDS

Awareness Camps have been organized in four Red-light Area including Jaynagar, Sashan, Kakdwip, Mathurapur and Laxmikantapur.

Awareness Camps are also organized in the community level among casual sex workers and housewives engaged in sex trade.

These camps have been organized at the community level at the railway stations. The objective of organizing these camps is to make them aware on

• Dangers of HIV/AIDS
• Prevention aspects emphasizing of Condom Promotion,
• Pre-material blood test.

Awareness camps on Mother & Child care

The organization have been organized  Mother & Child care programme in  Rural Area. The objective of organizing these camps is to make them concept on

• Care of Preg & Lact. Women.
• Care of child .
• Nutrition
• Health

SHG Formation

The  organization organized Local  Women, youth meeting  for formation  of SHG . The objective of organizing these camps is to make them Concept on

• Formation of SHG
• Combination of Bank.
• Deposit & Lone.
• Self Employment.
•  Maintenance of Records and Accounts

School Health Programme

The Organization start School Health Programme for student Health Education. The school name Kautala F.P School, Dari Kautala F.P School, Dhola High School, Molaya High School, Lakshmi narayan Pur High School, Netaji school, D/Kautala F.P School, Ramchandra pur High School.

Personal hygiene, seasonal diseases, health check ups(weight monitoring, anemia control, balanced diet, hygienic personal hanits, drinking water & sanitation), pollution, waste disposal, prevention and management of diarrhea etc.

The organization organized Family Counseling center & on going counseling programme in  project area .

Environment

The predominant operational area of KVSDS is a part of the alluvial plains of South 24 Parganas district and forms a part of the Sunderban delta. The area shares all the geographical characteristics of the coastal area with plenty of rainfall coupled with cyclonic storms. People are mostly agricultural laborers and since the area is mono-crop pattern, many seek work during the lean season a migrant laborers. In order to improve economic conditions of the people and to save further degradation of the environment, effort are being made to educate the populace to save the ‘cape’ of the environment

. Education Programme :

The Education Programme covers 60 children in the age group 1-9 years providing pre-primary Education through 1 centers enabled by 2 instructors. The activities focus on physical, mental and social development of the child. The curriculum is child friendly with joyful methods of learning, studded with extra curricular periods that assist in tapping the latent of children- art song, dance, mine, recitation etc, in the period 2012-2013 the following activities were implemented:

. Vocational Training Programme :

Vocational training programmes is a very much significant role to play in the development and overall promotion in appropriate condition, which may develop entrepreneurial talents in the need people, especially women folk. Sensitivity to the emerging socio-economic conditions, familiarity to new and constructive thinking and reorientation in the day to day life would require special training programme to enable them through the system, for better and improved living condition of the poor is a Himalayan task. Vocational training programmes can be viewed as on opportunity for providing gainful employment to the people in need and thereby improving their income and living standards.

This is a very crucial wing of K VSDS, since the organization work with the people through a participatory approach. Capacity Building(Vocational training)  is an on  – going an continuous activity through the year for all actors in the field- volunteers, staff, adolescent, youth, women, Panchayat and the local leaders. kishory shakti Yojana ;– Govt. Project, (Govt. of West Bengal)

Programme will commence by making adolescent girls future skilled workers by providing vocational training with incentive to work to understand their own emotional needs. As a matter of fact the adolescent girls should give patient hearing to talk on self awareness and self respect that are vitally need to overcome the long standing prejudices and trait to violent and other negative behavior. This programme laid emphasis on basic information about the world as a whole. Pursuant thereto in this initial period the participants will be given enough  scope to choose any trade they like to adopt.

TARGET GROUP :

Young unemployed & un married girl’s aged between 11-19 years requiring special support due to school dropout. The selection criteria will be the following:

• Girls not attending school.
• Girls living below the poverty line.
• Girls with special needs ( Disabled, learning difficulties )
• Semi- skilled girls.

12. Awareness Generation Programme for Rural & Poor Women:Govt.Project ( Govt.ofW.B)

 

The organization organize a AGP Programme for Rural & Poor  Women Development at Dhola G.P , Kulpi Block, South 24 Parganas. Support- West Bengal Social Welfare Board
